My sweet friend, Jamie, was in town over the holidays and took some maternity pictures of Alyssa and I. I am so excited for Alyssa and I to be pregnant together. We had talked about it our whole lives, growing up, but when she got married and had a baby my freshman year of college, I thought that this would never become a reality. We are due about a month apart from each other! I am going crazy, because she isn't finding out what their having! I thought she would crack once I found out what we were having, but NO! I think she secretly wants/is hoping for a girl... so when she found out I was having another BOY, she was totally OK with still not finding out. I think it is because she would be super excited for a girl, but now knowing that I am having a boy, would be excited for her to have a boy too!!!

Another one that I love! (PS- that tile was freezing!
So far, this pregnancy has been very similar to Trey's. I have been feeling pretty good and haven't been sick. I was looking back at old posts, from when I was pregnant with Trey, and realized how grateful I was that I had documented some of my feelings. I also, realized that I haven't written anything about this new baby! So, here it goes...
Some funny things that my students have said- Before I had told anyone at work or my students that I was pregnant, one of my students totally called me out in front of the class. I had just finished explaining the directions to what they were supposed to do, and then asked if anyone had any questions. Well one little girl raised her hand, so I called on her, and she said, "Your tummy looks weird, are you going to have a baby?" I was completely caught off-guard and didn't know how to respond... I just avoided the question and redirected the class to what they were supposed to be doing. I then felt awkward (why in front of 6 & 7 year olds, I don't know) but then didn't know how to bring it up again to tell them. So about a month went by, and it was time for parent teacher conferences.... well, at this point I was about 24/25 weeks along and it was December, so every time I went to get the kids and saw their parents I had a big coat on, but when they came inside for parent conferences, I would take my coat off. I got some interesting looks and comments! :)
Trey- I am not quite sure how he is going to handle sharing his mama.... his new favorite word at the moment is MINE! On Christmas eve, Trey was running around playing with the big kids, and wanted nothing to do with his mama.... until his mama was holding a baby. I decided that since he didn't want to play with me, I would hold my cousin's new baby. As soon as Trey saw that baby come into my arms, he ran straight for me yelling ans screaming 'MINE, MINE, NO! NO! MINE!!!' By the time he got over to me he was still shouting, but was now swatting at me and the baby.... He points to my belling and says baby, but I do not think he has made the connection that soon a real baby will be hear and he is going to have to share his mama with a little brother. I know that one day, he will be the best big brother and show his little brother all the fun things he likes to do!
Baby names- With Trey it was easy... once we knew it was a boy, we knew he would be named after WILL. This time, I am really feeling the pressure to make sure my baby's name is meaningful, like his brother's. It has been a struggle and has been emotional too. Will and I are really having a hard time agreeing on a name for this little guy! Hopefully soon we will be able to know what Trey's little brother's name will be!
Movement- This little guy is definitely an active one... I wonder where he gets that from (cough, cough... trey) :) Even though, at times, I am pretty sure he is doing jumping jacks, gymnastics, karate, or having a dance party, I LOVE feeling him move around in there. Feeling the baby move, is my favorite part of being pregnant. This time, I was able to feel him a lot sooner, then I felt Trey. I think, I just knew more of what I was looking/feeling for! At my last dr. apt, the dr was having a hard time finding the heart beat. This normally would FREAK me OUT... but I could feel the baby going crazy in there and kicking all around, and knew that, that was why he couldn't find it right away. After the baby finally settled down, for about 2 seconds, the dr was able to get his heart rate and we were able to his his heartbeat. The dr. said, "man, your baby is a spaz!" At this comment, I was thinking, 'I know, now I am going to have TWO rambunctious little boys running around!' (But I seriously, couldn't be more excited!) Later, on the car ride home, Will asked me if I was nervous when the dr couldn't find the heartbeat. I immediately said NO, and told him that I could feel him moving all over the place during the time when the dr was looking. That was kind of the end of the conversation, (besides the discussion about what our future was going to be like with 2 crazy boys) but I later realized that Will, sitting on the other side of the dr office, wasn't able to feel what I was feeling while the dr was trying to find the heart beat. Instead he was sitting there wondering what was going on. I began to feel bad that he was worried and concerned, so I brought it back up to him later. He tried to play it off, and said that he wasn't too worried, cause the dr wasn't acting like there was a problem. He is the best dad (and husband)! I love watching him interact with and teach Trey new things, and I can not wait for our next little guy to arrive so I can see him hold our precious baby in his hands. Even though I am going to be completely out numbered by the boys in my house, I wouldn't have it any other way! I love my boys!

So cute! This makes me smile...love that you guys are pregnant together!
